Inspection Conditions and Policies

Inspection conditions and policies:

  • As an accredited inspection body, IO SVV Praha performs inspection in the field of welding of metallic materials only in the areas for which it is accredited (determination and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials).
  • IO SVV Praha applies its inspection procedures in a non-discriminatory manner and does not impose undue financial costs or other undue conditions on customers. All customers have equal access to the inspection body.
  • The SVV Praha IO shall be impartial and shall maintain customer independence for all its staff.
  • Customers must specify their requirements by means of a purchase order, a sample of which is available at www.svv.cz ,
  • The customer must meet the requirements of the specified standards and provide the requested documents required by the SVV IO, depending on the subject of the inspection. In the case of a request for qualification of welding procedures based on a welding procedure test and based on a pre-production welding test, the following applies:
    • specification – manufacturer’s pWPS in accordance with the relevant standard
    • an inspection document according to EN 10204 for the base material of the test piece
    • inspection document according to EN 10204 for the additional material used
    • certificate of the welder (operator) who welded the test pieces (min. requirements for welder qualification: valid BP training, min. requirements for operator/adjuster: – training for the operation of automated equipment and BP training)
  • The applicant’s documentation is considered confidential and treated as such in accordance with the legal provisions.
  • In order to carry out an inspection to determine and qualify the welding procedures for metallic materials, the customer must provide the other input conditions listed below:
    • provide supervision of the manufacturer’s welding process and appoint a responsible person to cooperate with the IO SVV Prague in the inspection
    • ensure the safety of all personnel involved in the subject of the inspection and observe occupational safety during the inspection
    • use only technical equipment approved for safe operation during the inspection
  • The customer is informed and understood about the choice of possible subcontractors (services related to testing activities are performed by the IO SVV Praha in the case of non-destructive testing by personnel qualified according to EN 473/ISO 9712 level 2, confirmed by an accredited certification body for personnel certification, in the case of mechanical testing by testing laboratories accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025).
  • In case the customer requires testing of materials through other suppliers who do not fully meet the above-mentioned conditions of the IO JHA, the output documents (inspection report or WPQR report including all annexes) will not contain any reference to accreditation and will not be considered as documents issued within the scope of accreditation.
  • The result of the inspection is the issuance of an inspection report, the annex to which is the WPQR (welding procedure qualification report) including the necessary annexes in the form of a record of the weld test, details of the weld preparation and welding details (WPS) and test results in the case of conformity assessment with the required specification according to the approved inspection procedure IP IO SVV No.1. In the event that the inspection results in a declaration that the welding procedure has not been qualified, the customer shall receive an inspection report including appropriate justification for the inspection result.
  • The customer will receive the inspection report including related annexes after the overall evaluation and review of the inspection activities of the IO SVV Prague and after fulfilling all agreed obligations, including financial ones.
  • The Customer has the right to file a complaint or appeal regarding the activities of the SVV Prague IO in writing to the address of the SVV Prague IO. Any objection or complaint to individual activities during the inspection must be made immediately, before the inspection is evaluated, and any complaint or appeal to the results of the inspection within 2 weeks of receipt of the inspection documents. Complaints and appeals shall be handled by the IO SVV Praha in accordance with the established procedures for handling complaints and appeals available from the Quality Manager.
