International / European Welding Technologist IWT/EWT from September 7, 2026

Term: September 7, 2026 – December 9, 2026. The training is divided into theoretical and practical blocks:

Theoretical block: 7.9. – 10.9. + 14.9. – 17.9. + 12.10. – 15.10. + 19.10. – 22.10. + 2.11. – 5.11. + 9.11. – 12.11. + 23.11. – 26.11. + 30.11. – 3.12.2026

Practical block: 29.9. – 1.10. + 5.10. – 8.10.2026

Written and oral examination: January 18 – 20, 2027

Training is conducted Monday to Thursday, total course duration: 369 hours

The course is intended for: welding professionals – welding supervisors, designers, technologists, quality inspectors, technical control staff, and sales representatives of welding equipment and technical gases for welding.

Minimum admission requirements:
Education must be obtained at universities, colleges, vocational schools, or technical institutes recognized by the relevant ministry (e.g., education, labour, etc.).

1. Education must be in Science, Technology and Mathematics (STM/STEM), including at least mathematics, physics, and chemistry, or
2. STM education that does not include physics and chemistry (mathematics must be included) may be accepted if the applicant has at least 2 years of experience in metal processing or welding within the last 5 years prior to application, or
3. Non-STM education may be accepted if the applicant has at least 5 years of experience in metal processing or welding within the last 8 years prior to application. These applicants should be informed that mathematics is a fundamental subject for understanding the IWT program. It is recommended that such applicants complete IWS before starting the IWT program. Applicants must pass the IWS 0 examination to be admitted to the IWT training program.

Note: Mandatory entry conditions: 1 and 2; or 1 and 3; or 1 and 4.

Content: welding processes and equipment, materials and their weldability, design of welded structures, manufacturing and applied engineering, practical exercises, quality assurance systems, latest developments in ČSN EN standardization

Output documents: Upon successful completion of the final written and oral examinations, graduates receive the diplomas “International Welding Technologist” and “European Welding Technologist”, as well as a certificate of training in ČSN EN ISO 17637 for visual inspection of welds (this does not replace NDT personnel certification; such certification can be obtained by completing the VTdw2 course at SVV Praha s.r.o. training center).

Graduate profile: After successful completion of the course, the graduate is qualified for the position of welding supervisor in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 14731 – “Welding coordination – Tasks and responsibilities”.

Note: As part of professional gas industry education, the course has been awarded 2 credits.
